A brake on technology in Lithuania: we don't need self-driving trucks in Lithuania because there are Uzbeks - Lithuanian transport companies suspected of exploiting third-country workers, including Blairas Logistics

"The Prosecutor General's Office announced on Wednesday that it is currently conducting an extremely complex, large-scale pre-trial investigation into possible exploitation of forced labor, document forgery and fraudulent financial accounting in freight transport companies.

One of the aforementioned companies is Blairas Logistics. The company indicated in a statement released on Wednesday that it is cooperating with law enforcement.

"We have already handed over all the necessary documents, both to officials and institutions, and we will continue to do so. We absolutely do not overestimate yesterday's events, we continue our activities as usual. We are ready not only to provide comprehensive information necessary for the investigation, but also to fully cooperate with the country's law enforcement institutions," says Vytautas Mikalajūnas, a representative of Blairas Logistics.

The news portal lrytas.lt reports that officers have been searching the departments of the logistics service provider Blairas Logistics since the morning of Tuesday, May 27. Two of them are in Vilnius, one in Utena.

The pre-trial investigation was initiated after examining a statement regarding the possible presence of signs of the above-mentioned criminal acts in the activities of one of the freight transportation companies.

During the investigation, other transport sector companies related to the latter were also identified, where similar crimes were also allegedly committed.

Searches, interviews, inspections of objects are carried out in freight transportation companies, and data relevant to the investigation is collected. The procedural actions are carried out not only in Vilnius, but also in other counties.

Victims are third-country nationals

Currently, more than 30 persons have been recognized as victims in the pre-trial investigation, who are suspected of being exploited for forced labor. The victims are third-country nationals, mainly from Central Asian countries: Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by officers of the Vilnius County Chief Police Commissariat for Organized Crime Investigation Board. Officers from other police departments, the State Labor Inspectorate and the State Border Guard Service also participate in searches and other acts of procedural coercion.

According to currently available data, third-country nationals were employed in the transport companies under investigation, who were allegedly not guaranteed a regular income, their work was not properly organized, and safe and humane conditions were not ensured.

Fraud and other illegal actions were possibly used against them, which influenced the submission of potentially forged documents to various state institutions.

Considering that the pre-trial investigation is particularly complex, large-scale, investigation-relevant data is collected with extreme care, responsibility and careful assessment according to the specifics of the transport sector.

In order not to jeopardize the ongoing pre-trial investigation, more detailed information is not being made public at this time.

In the near future, reports of suspicion are planned to be served on both legal entities and individuals.”

Lithuanian politicians have no business here. They themselves are looking for something else to steal. Bring in more Uzbeks. Those Muslim men don’t drink they are very handy for Lithuanian women to have sex with.
