"In your editorial "Is Trump Trying to Destroy Harvard?" (May 24), you write that Kristi Noem's "order will echo around the world as a signal that the U.S. is no longer open to educate the world's brightest young people. Foreign students will get the message and take their talents elsewhere." But where exactly is elsewhere? China, with its corrupt authoritarian control over products and policy?
Or Europe, with its underinvested technological and industrial base smothered in government red tape?
The U.S. is finally responding to blatant social manipulation in our universities by applying overdue guardrails. Beijing should be shuddering, not laughing.
