"OpenAI has unveiled a new feature for its chatbot.
ChatGPT Pulse is a departure from the "question-and-answer" model.
Now, ChatGPT can initiate
conversations on topics it deems relevant to the user, based on their previous
activity.
ChatGPT Pulse will process personalized information
collected throughout the day to provide users with currently relevant
knowledge. The feature is currently being rolled out on mobile devices.
ChatGPT Pulse: How does the new feature work?
ChatGPT Pulse is a new form of interaction
with artificial intelligence. According to its creators, the new feature is
intended to be the first step towards a more useful ChatGPT. The Pulse service
is intended to act as an active assistant, providing users with useful
information. To this end, it will process personalized data every night based
on previous chats, opinions, and connected applications such as the calendar.
Users can manage what ChatGPT explores, letting it know what's useful and
what's not.
Analyzing device memory, chat history, and user feedback
will allow the chatbot to learn what might be of interest to us at the moment
and provide personalized information the next day. According to the developers,
this could include follow-ups on frequently discussed topics, next steps toward
a long-term goal, or healthy meal ideas.
What does ChatGPT Pulse look like? Currently available in
preview.
Personalized information is displayed
as a set of cards that can be quickly glanced at or clicked for more details.
They are only available for one day unless saved. A new set of cards appears
each day. ChatGPT can prepare a sample agenda for an upcoming meeting, suggest
a travel schedule for a calendar trip, or remind you to buy a birthday gift.
OpenAI has already released a preview version of ChatGPT
Pulse to Pro users on mobile devices. Based on feedback, the service will be
improved and then expanded to include Plus users. Ultimately, it will be
available to everyone.
What features does ChatGPT Pulse offer? New feature support
Users can decide what information
ChatGPT processes. Integrations with apps like calendar and email are disabled
by default and can be enabled or disabled at any time in the settings.
Users can also select which information is of interest to
them by providing the chatbot with tips, such as "Focus on professional
tennis updates tomorrow." They can also quickly provide feedback to the
chatbot with a thumbs up or down. This will make the service more useful. It's
worth noting that the topics displayed are security-checked to avoid displaying
harmful content.”
