Brain power

You know about poor soldiers that eat mostly hamburgers from cheap beef grown on corn. These soldiers suffer from absence of omega-3 fatty acid so much that they get brain damage severe enough to kill themselves quite often. Terrible, terrible life... This why I am always interested in herring that eats sea plankton, and is rich in omega-3 fatty acid as a result.

The problem is that all producers of familiar salted herring discovered that preservatives like sodium sorbate make the life of the producer easy. These preservatives slow down the metabolism. This why I started looking for frozen herring.

I found this frozen herring in Belarus (a big land locked country). The store is called almi.su. It is in a city called Grodno (Gardinas in Lithuanian). This is the address in Russian: Гродно Гипермаркет «АЛМИ» пр-т Космонавтов, 81   8(0152)75-1604.

If you put frozen herring into cooler with some frozen beans, you are good to go for hours till our home in Lithuania. Be careful: the herring oils are easy to spoil. Best to cook it in pancakes and freeze again. Cooking openly without pancakes might spoil delicate (and priceless) oils. Why herring, why not mackerel? Mackerel is great, it has a characteristic mackerel smell though. When your organism does not want smelly mackerel, you have to listen to your organism. What we do not understand might be also important.

I will make sure that everyone of you will know where to get frozen herring and how to cook it. No brain damage for you, poor sausages. (I know, you like hamburgers too.)
