How to get rid of the destructive motive of pursuing profit?
All profits earned by the company in the country can be transferred to a bank account controlled by the central bank of the country. Part of the money from this account may be distributed to shareholders or other owners in proportion to the number of votes the company is able to collect among the people. This can be counted with computers. In this way, not only buyers, but also the community in which they operate, employees, suppliers and environmental activists - everyone who wants to vote - is regularly interviewed. Each of these segments of the business environment (e.g. suppliers) could determine the fate of one fifth part of profits so that any important area of our lives is not forgotten. The remaining money earned by the company remains with the state as a tax for unpopularity among the people, a measure of the damage to the society and the environment.
As a extreme case, an evil corporation can be so hated by everyone that its owners make no profit at all because no one votes for them. All profits would then go to the state in the form of the unpopularity tax. As a result this evil corporation would turn into a non-profit company. This would encourage shareholders to change the company’s management and business plan. Shareholders can reorganize their business themselves without waiting for the state. This requires linking the remuneration of business leaders to profits and transferring the unpopularity tax to charity.
