I recently read in the comments of "Verslo žinios" that if there was no Gorbachev's freedom of speech (glasnost', Russian), there would be neither Northern Athens nor independent Lithuania. There is no freedom of speech and thought in Lithuania now. If you don't believe it, try to visit Russian newspapers in Lithuania: iz, gazeta, aif or others, searching by writing .ru after these abbreviations. Won't work, blocked, at all, like in North Korea. Anywhere in the US - please read and think what you like.
To change the Constitution so as not to revoke Lithuanian citizenship from those who study or work in Cambridge or Oxford in the United Kingdom, we need the kind of unanimity of voting that exists only in North Korea.
And to change the Constitution so that we place nuclear weapons in Lithuania, it is enough for about a hundred people to vote twice. Again, a despicable minority decides, as in North Korea. There one man makes a decision concerning nuclear weapons on the territory of the country.
It seems that we, the last pagans in Europe, will also be the last to win freedom if we survive during this time period as a nation.
