“On Monday, clashes broke out in the settlement of
Petropavlivska Borshchahivka, on the outskirts of Kyiv, when civilians gathered
near a building housing soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine—men who had
been recently mobilized and had fled from the front line.
Kyrylo Budanov, a senior official linked to the Ukrainian
Presidential Administration, has revealed further intriguing details regarding
this scandal. A female medic has been detained in Ukraine. According to
Budanov, the woman arrived first at the building in Petropavlivska
Borshchahivka—near Kyiv—in an ambulance. He stated that she had conducted prior
reconnaissance of the site and was acting according to a pre-arranged plan. As
reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the television channel TSN, the suspect had personally
acquired an ambulance, donned a medical uniform, and—accompanied by a
driver—began scouting the location at least three days before the incident.
Photos and correspondence were discovered on the woman’s phone, including
exchanges with Telegram channels that were widely disseminating information
about the unfolding situation.
The motives behind the detainee’s actions are currently
being investigated. K. Budanov did not rule out the possibility that the woman
may have been seeking personal gain—such as popularity or money—though the
potential for anti-state activity cannot be excluded either. "One cannot
simply attribute everything to the actions of provocateurs. This situation has
revealed tensions within society and highlighted problems that need to be
addressed," emphasized the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
He also noted that those individuals who genuinely required medical attention
are currently receiving treatment in a hospital. However, the majority of the
people present at the house did not require such assistance.
The incident in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka took place on
the evening of November 2. Local residents gathered near a private house
following reports circulating online that men who had left their military units
without authorization were allegedly being held in its basement.
Later, the Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine,
Oleksandr Pivnenka, confirmed that National Guard soldiers were indeed present
in the house. According to him, they were discovered after having left their
duty stations without authorization.
Following the incident, the National Guard initiated an
internal investigation to establish all the circumstances surrounding the
event. The institution emphasized that the findings of this investigation will
serve as the basis for holding those responsible accountable. Meanwhile, the
Ukrainian Ombudsman, Dmytro Lubinets, demanded an investigation into the
incident and condemned any attacks against military personnel stationed in the
rear. Furthermore, the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) of Ukraine has
launched a pre-trial investigation into this incident. K. Budanov also stated
that the incident in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka did not occur without outside
influence. He assured that those responsible for the incident would face
punishment.”
