The Lithuanian elite has in vain torn the Lithuanian economy, trying to cause chaos in Belarus.
This is the biggest defeat of the Lithuanian rulers:
"Maidan's overthrown government, like Ukraine's entire political elite, has always been uncoordinated, fragmented. Belarusian society is united around government even an armed revolution could hardly have overthrown it.
Now, a year later, even members of the Belarusian opposition, imprisoned or fleeing abroad, admit to themselves that the street protests, like the entire opposition, have been defeated and suppressed.
Political leaders of the opposition sheltered abroad, among whom S. Chichanouskaya, who was personally received by the most important Western leaders and live in Lithuania, bear the main crown, no longer have close ties with each other or with the Belarusian society. The political potential of both Chichanouskaya and other similar actors within Belarus and the possibilities to act on the real situation in the country are minimal and largely exhausted. Moreover, a large part of society undoubtedly continues to support the regime."
