How to study outside Lithuania

"According to the latest data of the Government Strategic Analysis Center (STRATA), 34.8% of all graduates who received a maturity certificate in 2019 study outside Lithuania. The most popular countries chosen by Lithuanians are the United Kingdom (UK), the Netherlands, Denmark and the United States. According to Eglė Kesylienė, head of AMES Education, the first three most popular countries seem to change significantly, as Brexit has adjusted the funding conditions for studies in the UK, and Denmark will soon reduce the flow of foreign students to its universities.

“The main reason why Lithuanian students still like universities in the UK, the Netherlands and Denmark (besides being relatively close to home) is the opportunity to study in English. Specially adapted study programs for foreigners attract a large number of graduates not only from us, but also from neighboring countries, therefore the competition in the universities of these countries is extremely high. It is true that it is because of such a large number of foreign students that the Danish government has decided to drastically reduce the number of study programs in English, as the majority of graduates leave the country without finding a job there, ” - says E. Kesylienė, a certified study abroad specialist.

According to the head of Ames Education, a young person who decides to study abroad must take the initiative and become his / her manager from the first grades of the gymnasium - to prepare a good university admission portfolio: Pass the international English language - IELTS - exam; Learn to write a comprehensive cover letter to the university; Get recommendations from teachers for the university (if necessary, give the teacher guidelines on what is required by a particular educational institution); Carry out a detailed analysis of educational institutions, assessing all entry requirements, deadlines, prices, etc."

The most interesting thing is now the Netherlands, because nothing changes in them.
