“As reported by Militarnyj, a component of the Mesh network
was found in a Gerbera drone shot down in Ukraine this week – an HX series wireless industrial router
manufactured by the Chinese electronics company Shenzhen Sinosun Technology
Co., Ltd.
According to the manufacturer, such a
router can provide stable coverage in an area of 50-100 square meters and
simultaneously connect Wi-Fi and Ethernet devices, and can transmit
high-definition video, voice and data within its coverage area.
The HX series devices are compatible with Wi-Fi and 4G/5G
networks and feature industrial protection for a wide temperature and voltage
range – therefore, they can operate reliably in harsh conditions. The Mesh
network architecture allows for smooth data transmission over long distances
and is designed to maintain network stability even if individual nodes fail.
According to publicly available technical information, such systems support
continuous information coverage over large areas, automatic network scaling,
wireless feedback between nodes according to a mutual communication model, and
resilience to the loss of individual components.
As Militarnyj points out, the Mesh
network could ensure continuous communication and coordination of drones,
including the ability to monitor how many drones remain in one group and
continue moving towards the target.”
