Nėra taip, kad jam reikia visą laiką, ar jis ten eis boulingą žaisti, ar eis į restorano į vidų pietauti, kam jiems reikalingas tas pasas? (...) Ar čia būtina iš tikrųjų karantino metu?“ – tuomet samprotavo L. Kliunkienė"

Valdančiosios panelės greitai sujudo užpūsti kilusį propagandinį skandalą:

"Į šį L. Kliunkienės pasisakymą reaguodama, ekonomikos ir inovacijų ministrė A. Armonaitė savo feisbuke rašė esanti pakraupusi dėl ministerijos atstovės samprotavimų.

Apie šį pasisakymą Ministrų Kabineto vadovė I. Šimonytė sužinojo ne iš ministerijos komandos, o iš opozicijos lyderio Sauliaus Skvernelio, Seime vykusios Vyriausybės valandos metu pacitavusio žiniasklaidoje perskaitytus L. Kliunkienės pasisakymus ir uždavusio klausimą premjerei. I. Šimonytė tuomet užsiminė, kad dar nėra susipažinusi su cituotu pasisakymu, tačiau tuomet pavadino tokias mintis „be galo bjauriomis“.

„Manau, kad pasisakymas yra be galo neetiškas. Galbūt neviešame posėdyje ir nemandagiau pasisakyčiau. Tai tikrai tą išsiaiškinsiu, man neteko progos skaityti šito pasisakymo“, – tuomet kalbėjo I. Šimonytė."
