 "Š. Jasiukevičius says that if we talk about the capabilities of the army, in Ukraine a brigade (3-5 thousand soldiers) defends a 30-50 km section (10 meters per soldier) from a month to two (less meters are enough to bury a soldier).

 

It depends on the intensity of hostilities, natural conditions. If the front line is calm, a unit of this size can hold out for a year. D. Antanaitis says that the brigade's standard is a 25 km front and 25 km depth of this section. When we talk about a formation of this size, we are not talking about soldiers standing shoulder to shoulder. A section occupies a position 100 meters long, a platoon 300 meters by 300 meters, and a battalion guards a 5 km section and the same depth.

 

It depends on the terrain. The more open it is, the longer the defended section."
