Germany and Lithuania have nothing. Neither oil, nor gas, nor fertilizers made from it. Last time when there was a tariff war, food imports stopped, the Germans were starving. Some kept goats on balconies and grew potatoes near the railway tracks. Since Lithuania is now economically a poor province of Germany, the same order is now unfolding in Lithuania as it was then in Germany. Only we, Lithuanians, are no longer able to grow potatoes, it is not profitable.
