"Norstat survey commissioned by LRT showed that the
majority of Lithuanians do not want foreigners to work in Lithuania. 63% of the
population indicated that they do not agree to allow more migrants to enter the
Lithuanian labor market. 28% think that more foreigners are needed, 9% do not.
Sociologists cite the fear that employers are trying to pay the lowest possible
wages when hiring foreigners as the main reason for such unfavorable attitudes.
"because employers can simply lure employees away from each other. Just
offer better conditions," - commented Romas Lazutka, a professor at Vilnius
University.
Another explanation is why: Lithuanians do not want foreigners to become dependents on state support. "The
employer wins, but it is very simple for the employer. If only he no longer
needs staff, he fires. But where to put those people? There are no guarantees
that they will leave," - Lazutka said."
Oh, what will happen now? There will be nothing new. The Lithuanian government will continue to take in those Russians out of Ukraine, but with the knowledge that it is not suitable for the electorate, the Lithuanian government will take them secretly, without telling anyone but telling only bribing the Lithuanian government businessmen like Darius Mockus (where is Eligijus Masiulis? Not yet in prison?).
