The terminological parliamentary committee recommended that the dissertation be considered defended only if a comprehensive article on the popularization of science presented in the dissertation is published in Swedish. Jūras Banys is outraged that in Lithuania only 0.25% of GDP is allocated for research - less than in Bulgaria and Romania: “What kind of scientific language can we talk about at all? Surely, if we do not have specialists in an important field, we will speak about it in English, Russian, German or some other language.
