It just takes more
people to say it publicly:
"Representatives of the pro-Putin "International Good Neighbor
Forum" participating in the events of the OSCE Human Dimension Conference
in Warsaw stated that "the autocratic Lithuanian regime imitates
democracy".
Kazimieras
Juraitis, one of the founders of the pro-Lukashenka and pro-Russian
"International Good Neighbor Forum", took the floor on Monday at the
OSCE human dimension conference, which discussed the rights of migrants,
equality between men and women, and violence against women and children.
He spoke as a
representative of the said association. The court is still examining the
request of the General Prosecutor's Office to liquidate this organization, one
of the founders of which is Algirdas Paleckis, who is in prison for espionage
for Russia.
Juraitis explained
about the distribution of refugees
K. Juraitis,
addressing the other participants of the event in Russian, stated that one of
the most relevant issues at the moment is war refugees.
"And this is
where the problem lies - refugees are segregated in Lithuania. The Minister of
Foreign Affairs, Gabrielius Landsbergis, has publicly stated that he will
accept only selected, high-quality refugees. Let's answer the question, what is
this phenomenon, when people are divided into good, bad, high quality, low
quality and other categories", he explained.
K. Juraitis also
stated that "due to pressure from the European Union", an
advertisement inviting to Lithuania was previously distributed.
"And when the
refugees from Iraq and Syria believed in this call, they were literally put in
prison," said the actor, adding that in Kybartai, prisoners were even
moved elsewhere to accommodate refugees in the building.
K. Juraitis said
that Ukrainians integrate perfectly into Lithuanian society, because
"traditions of brotherhood and neighborliness have been alive since the
time of the Soviet Union".
"According to
the logic of Mr. Landsbergis' cabinet, these are "quality" refugees.
The absolute majority of them speak Russian. The problem is that G. Landsberg's
policy poisons relations not only between refugees, but also between national
minorities," he said.
As an example, he
cited journalist Rimvydas Valatkas, whom he called a propagandist of the
government, since Valatka was calling to abandon the use of the Russian language and remove
Russian from the list of optional languages in schools.
K. Juraitis asked
the participants of the event what should be done in such conditions for the
Russian-speaking Ukrainian refugees and the Lithuanian Russian minority, which
makes up 5% of the country's population.
"I invite the
official ambassador of Ukraine to speak exclusively Russian with the official
ambassador from Lithuania," he explained.
He stated that
democracy is being imitated in Lithuania
Mindaugas Ramoška,
another founder of the International Good Neighbor Forum, spoke at the OSCE
event last Friday.
He explained at
the OSCE Human Dimension Conference, dedicated to discussing freedom of opinion
and expression, media, that "the autocratic Lithuanian regime imitates
democracy and democratic values, such as freedom of media, opinion and
expression".
M. Ramoška said
that journalists and associations, such as the forum he represents, their
founders, "investigating topics inconvenient for the regime can be
imprisoned".
"Those who
visit hot spots in the world, such as Erika Švenčionienė, are threatened with
violence and deprivation of liberty. "Journalists who provide information
unfavorable to the ruling regime are not invited to any live broadcasts, which
means that media pluralism does not exist in Lithuania," he concludes.""
