Why are new winds blowing in Western politics?

The problem is that what China and the rest of the world are doing and using is better and cheaper than what we in the West are using with our diesels and other sources of smoke. The fact that we are trying to protect ourselves from China with tariffs does not seriously change anything for the Chinese or the rest of the world, because China's exports do not fall even though we increase those tariffs.

Questions about the quality of Chinese products must be decided by the market. If we cut ourselves off from that market with tariffs, it means our companies don't have to compete globally. Therefore, the prices of our products do not fall, the quality does not increase. No one in the world buys such products. Therefore, our companies are poor. We, the West, are turning back into the goat pastures we have been for millennia. Those goats climb all the willows that lean. And when we weaken, it is migrants from increasingly hot Africa and Central America who do whatever they want with us.

This cannot last long. As a result, our leaders (Biden, Macron, Scholz and Sunak) have become objects of ridicule. New leaders are coming, the situation will change. It is difficult to say whether it will change for the better.
