Zelensky's breach of word?

“President Biden has consistently demanded that Ukraine not use Western weapons to attack Russia. If Ukraine does, then the debate over deliveries becomes more difficult.

The most recent attack on the Belgorod region raises uncomfortable questions for the Russian leadership, as it represents the most massive spread of the conflict to date on their own country.

Also Zelensky could get into a difficult explanation, if he carried out the operation that really have used American military vehicles.

Remarkable balancing act

In an initial reaction, the State Department in Washington still expressed doubts about corresponding reports based on the evaluation of photos. In the political assessment, however, a spokesman performed a remarkable balancing act: the American government does not advise strikes on Russian territory, he said; on the other hand, it is up to the Ukrainians how they conduct the conflict.

Zelensky's promise not to launch any attacks in Russia with the supplied Western weapons was a difficult concession from the start. It gives Putin a military advantage that a person does not normally have. But Biden demanded this price because he is intent on containing the conflict.

He just reiterated the condition in the F-16 fighter debate. Should the Ukrainians now break their word, then decisions on arms deliveries would be even more difficult than they already are, not only in the United States."
