"D. Žalimas
is widely known to the public, eloquent, well-acquainted with the country's
problems, liberal views, so he is perfectly suited to be the flag bearer of the
Freedom Party. Hopes did not come true. They were all dashed when it became
clear that the Freedom Party concluded a contract with D. Žalimas' wife Ingrida
at the end of March for consultations during the election campaign, she was
paid 10,680 euros. D. Žalimas called the contract a mistake, and said that the
money has already been returned, and that his wife will continue to provide
services, but without remuneration.
The Žalimas family
are not beggars who have to use every opportunity to earn money for food. Last
year D. Žalimas received 140 thousand euro income. The Freedom Party knows
full well what is allowed and what is not, and that secretly recruiting a
candidate's wife is not an example of best business practice. I would really
like to know whether D. Žalimas and his entourage proposed to conclude a
contract, which would show shameful greed, or whether the party chairwoman
Aušrinė Armonaitė and her entourage thought that this was a way to tie D.
Žalimas more closely to the party. In any case, this is an incomprehensible and
inexcusable error. And if we know of one case, are there others yet to be
discovered? It is disappointing that more than thirty years after independence,
the former chairman of the Constitutional Court got involved in such a dirty
political deal."
Eve (now her name is Ingrida) is always to blame. She eats
the apple herself and gives it to D. Žalimas. He bites with all his might and falls from the tree.
