A rather strange elite is forming in Lithuania. Not members
of business and science, but members of closed clans, who do not seek to create
good, but shoulder to shoulder and biting each other's throats are trying to
get to a much simpler thing – a good life without responsibility and,
preferably, at someone else's expense.
These clans are quite closed and you cannot get there from
the street. There are not very many places to eat hearty meals, after all. The
competition is huge. You can decide how big it is. The competition for the
three positions of independent board members of the Lithuanian Airports was won
by Julija Abromavičienė, Oleksandr Laneckij and Mantas Šukevičius. A total of
67 candidates participated in the selection, the LTOU said in a press release.
Algirdas Sysas, a member of the Seimas, a man who constantly calls for higher
taxes and more redistribution, does not hide his anger when it comes to
approving those higher taxes. There are more and more highly paid positions and
institutions whose benefits are questionable. What the commission created under
the first government to reduce bureaucracy did and how many euros it spent on
it – no one knows.”
Why is the unpopular deprivation of citizenship from
Lithuanians who have worked hard and lived abroad necessary? To reduce
competition for clan members using the wealth of the homeland. It absurdly
explains that those who were born in communist Lithuania, ruled by the parents
and grandparents of this elite, are not Lithuanians, because they did not
receive Lithuanian citizenship at birth, and therefore do not have the right to
retain Lithuanian citizenship by acquiring another citizenship. Why is
universal conscription needed? To distribute a larger share of the billions of
euros per year allocated for defense among their own, without spending it on
the purchase of foreign drones and missiles.
