Liberal conservatives receive the label of "block of incitement to war"

"Social Democrat Gintautas Paluckas says that the Liberal Conservatives are a "block of incitement to war"" because they are particularly prone to extremism and conflict.

Called conflicting and militant

Social Democrat Paluck called the Liberal Conservative a "block of incitement to war" earlier in an article.

"Indeed, in writing these words, using all of my humanitarian education and the benefits of that education, I have tried to reflect certain features of one political force - militancy and some conflict," Soccial Democrat said.

According to him, as far as I had to talk to my fellow Liberal Conservatives afterwards, no one was offended by such a label.

"It is said that yes, we are more militant, as there is a certain tradition of "hawks" from that Anglo-Saxon political culture, we are in favor of militaristicly stronger development of the country, for new concepts of foreign affairs, new visions of the Cold War. "We cannot give up, we cannot be weak, they replied," - G. Paluckas said.

The mentioned militancy, according to him, is widespread both in the factions and parties of the Liberal Conservatives.

"That statement comes from observing actual actions," - Paluckas said.

However, such an approach, in the opinion of the opposition representative, is of little use.

"We have direct economic losses, stalled business projects, job losses and the like. There are alternative patterns of behavior, more moderate, less militant, less conflicting, what the Social Democrats offer. "This is the difference here, which has become very clear in 12 months or a year and a half," - he said.

Liberal conservatives, according to Paluckas, construct their vision through conflict.

"We still see the management of the pandemic - some are on the enemies, 'we won't even talk to you,' others are righteous." Also, would it be in foreign affairs - the new front: the Cold War, there are dictators, autocrats, and here are our friends, the Western democracies. The world is varied, we have to communicate with everyone about all sorts of things, even with those we don't like terribly," - the politician said.

However, Paluckas argued that liberal conservatives tended to have a "classic set of extremes."

"If you try to find some kind of consensus on some issues and don't want to cut off all relationships with one sword, it means you're wagging your tail towards the dictator. This is precisely the conflict and extremism in all matters and relations," - the Social Democrat said.

Mr Paluckas emphasized that the world could be seen with less extremes.

"Such" messianism"- "we are here to eat all the losses and suffer the dislike of the people, but we have to change Lithuania" is among the most liberal conservative colleagues,"  -said the Social Democrat.

However, Mr Paluckas argued that the Social Democrats had never wavered on these issues either.

“If you realize yourself that I have a mission coming from somewhere, then there is a lack of emotional intelligence or social sensitivity. (…) I sometimes get such an impression,” - a member of the Seimas commented.

Calls not to realize goals

Mr Paluckas said expecting the world to be ideal is the same as fighting for world peace.

"We are talking about a balance between the national interest, the interest of the people and that ideological, beautiful struggle for world peace," - the Social Democrat explained.

Mr Paluckas said it was impossible to divide the world through the fence into good and bad.

"This is an illusion that is dangerous and useless to the people of Lithuania. (...) One cannot destroy one's state trying in vain to save all the world's democracies," - the opposition spokesman emphasized."
