"At Hessian (Germany) schools, students could
soon learn with ChatGPT. The Ministry of Education is working with other
countries to develop a corresponding system for teaching.
Despite critical voices, schools in
Hesse are to use artificial intelligence (AI) to learn in the future.
"The
use of AI applications in the classroom, including through ChatGPT, can support
students individually in their learning process," says the Ministry of
Education.
With just a few clicks, chatbots
like ChatGPT spit out a generated text for each request. AI-based applications
are intended to improve the individual care situation of schoolchildren.
Relief for teachers
Hesse is therefore developing an
"intelligent tutorial system" together with other states for use in
the classroom, the Ministry of Education announced. At some point, the students
are to be provided with a “learning model for various subjects”. However, the
project is still in the early stages.
The programs are not only a support
for the children and young people, "but also a relief for the
teachers".
The applications are seen as a
further development of digitally supported teaching. Despite risks such as
misinformation, the use of AI applications has the potential to improve work
processes."
For us Lithuanians, it is important to remind that ChatGPT is free.
ChatGPT is a very good explainer. Because each student does not understand different things, ChatGPT can be used for personalized learning.
