“A cargo ship was damaged during
Russian missile attacks on the Odesa region of southern Ukraine. Four members
of the 17-person crew were injured, the region's military governor, Oleh Kiper,
announced on Telegram. The ship was sailing under the flag of the Marshall
Islands. Earlier, "industrial infrastructure" had also been targeted;
according to reports, an administrative building, a warehouse, and more than a
dozen vehicles were damaged in the process.
According to the
Ministry of Defense in Moscow, the Russian military attacked two ports in the
Odesa region. An attack on the port of Pivdennyi reportedly targeted a
freighter carrying supplies for the Ukrainian army. In the port of Odesa
itself, fuel tanks were the target. Additionally, four cargo ships were
reportedly attacked in the port of Mykolaiv in the neighboring region; there
was no confirmation of this from the Ukrainian side.
For days, Ukraine has been carrying
out drone attacks against ships calling at Russian-controlled ports in the
Black Sea and the neighboring Sea of Azov. In response, Russia has expanded
its attacks on Ukrainian ports along the Black Sea coast.”
