Russia managed to stop grain exports through Ukrainian seaports
“Grain exports through deep-sea Ukrainian ports have almost completely stopped due to massive Russian strikes on port infrastructure. This was told to the Latifundist.comportal by Bohdan Kosteckis, a business partner at the consulting company BarvaInvest. According to him, most large grain traders have temporarily stopped purchasing grain through deep-sea ports. Individual terminals at these ports have also stopped working. “Virtually all major market players have stopped purchasing through deep-sea terminals. In fact, deep-sea exports have stopped here today,” said the market analyst. In turn, shipowners are also massively refusing to sail to Ukrainian ports, citing the high risk. As B. Kosteckis explained, this situation is already putting pressure on domestic prices in Ukraine. For example, processing companies have reduced purchase prices for rapeseed by about 1 thousand hryvnias per ton. Similarly, compound feed factories are reducing grain purchase prices. At the same time, alternative logistics routes, especially through Romania, lead to significantly higher transportation costs, the expert notes.”
