"British Capt. John Tonkin once said: "I have always felt that the Geneva Convention is a dangerous piece of stupidity because it leads people to believe that war can be civilized. It can't." We firebombed Dresden and Tokyo in World War II. We unleashed nuclear weapons to finish the war. Our naivete in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan proved that wars couldn't be won by a rules-based exercise.
