"Weapons produced in the West do not work in Ukraine
because they were not designed to conduct a conflict of such intensity," a
military analyst told the Wall Street Journal.
Mykhailo Podolak, an
adviser to the head of Volodymyr Zelensky's office, expressed confidence that
Ukraine will receive the necessary assistance until the end of the conflict.
Taras Chmut, a military analyst and head of the Wróć Żywy
foundation, which raised money to purchase and deliver weapons and equipment to
Ukraine, said that "many Western armor elements do not work here because
they were created not for total conflict, but for low- or medium intensity.
“If you put it into a massive offensive, it just won't
work,” he said.
According to Chmut, Ukraine's Western allies should instead
focus on providing simpler and cheaper systems, but in larger quantities, as
Ukraine has repeatedly requested.
Western military strategists have not yet come to terms with
the fact that quantity outweighs quality, Major General Christian Freuding told
the daily.
- Numbers are needed; forces are needed. In the West, we
have reduced our army, reduced our supplies. But quantity matters, mass matters
- he pointed out.
According to Ukrainian officials quoted by "WSJ",
less than 5 percent tanks destroyed since the beginning of the conflict were
destroyed by other tanks, and the rest were eliminated by mines, artillery,
anti-tank missiles and drones. This means that the tank's advancement is no
longer as important.
"Despite this, Ukraine continues to ask its allies for
more advanced tanks and military equipment.""
Oh Juozai, those diesel-powered, terribly smelly devices that the Lithuanian army drives all over Lithuania are only suitable for luring our ladies into our beds. They don't work in conflicts. Someone needs to be fired because they bought that junk with money from our taxes.
