Donald Trump criticizes aid to Ukraine. "Zelensky is a great traveling salesman"

"Former US president and presidential candidate for the next term, Donald Trump, once again criticized US aid to Ukraine. He called the country's president Volodymyr Zelensky "one of the best traveling salesmen in history."

At a pre-election rally, the former US president accused the Ukrainian president of extorting money from the United States. He argued that the Ukraine should not receive any non-repayable subsidies. “We can lend him money, and if he suddenly wins, he can pay us back,” Trump said.

Zelensky is a better salesman than anyone

– I'm telling you, Zelensky is one of the best salesmen in history. Every time he comes to the country, he leaves with $50 or $60 billion. I've never managed to do that. He is the best salesman. Better than anyone, added the former president.

This is another attack by the former president of the United States on the aid Ukraine receives from this country. During his four-year term, Trump also repeatedly expressed admiration for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Zelensky invites Trump to Ukraine

Zelensky invited Trump to Ukraine because, as he explains, state leaders should see what a real conflict involves. — If Mr. Trump comes, I am ready to go with him to the front line, said the Ukrainian president, who has repeatedly visited units operating on the front.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Saturday he is ready to take Donald Trump to the front lines amid growing concerns about further U.S. aid to Kiev should the former president return to the White House.

The future of multi-billion US aid to Ukraine is in doubt as a $60 billion military aid package has been held up in Washington since last year due to a dispute between Republicans and Democrats in Congress."
