Where the billions for green hydrogen should go

 "Alpha Ventus" stands for how quickly a formerly distant future becomes part of everyday life. Just eleven years ago, the first German offshore wind farm went online under this name. Twelve windmills, far away from the mainland, a pilot project Breakthrough - today the North Sea is full of such wind turbines, and "Alpha Ventus" is now being followed by projects such as "Aqua Ventus". At Helgoland, the initiative of the same name wants to generate green hydrogen on a large scale from wind power in the North Sea. One million tons of green hydrogen a year could "soon" be produced there, advertises the development association, which is backed by a number of energy groups and industrial companies. 

And possibly with state funding. On Friday, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Transport presented a list of major projects to which they would like to distribute their hydrogen funding worth billions. There are 62 projects on it, with Aqua Ventus in first place. 19 projects alone, in which green hydrogen is generated from wind power and water by electrolysis, are on the list. In addition, there are a dozen or so projects that are used to transport hydrogen, with 1,700 kilometers of pipelines. And finally, a lot of plans to use the material - be it in steelworks instead of coke, in cement production or in transport. In addition to ThyssenKrupp, Saarstahl, Salzgitter and ArcelorMittal, BMW, Airbus and Daimler Trucks are also on the list of potential recipients. 

"We are in the process of becoming number one in the world when it comes to hydrogen," promises Federal Economics Minister Peter Altmaier (CDU). In the fight against climate change, hydrogen is considered a real miracle weapon. It could replace fossil fuels, especially in areas where a particularly large amount of carbon dioxide has been produced up to now. And because it can be generated with renewable electricity - for example in wind farms at sea - the new energy source would be completely climate-neutral. In its Corona economic stimulus program, the federal government had therefore announced nine billion euros for green hydrogen, seven billion of which were for projects in Germany or in Europe. Eight billion euros should now be available for the 62 projects, with the federal states also contributing something. 

But first the EU has to agree. The chances are good, because Brussels is also working hard to help green gas make a breakthrough. The technology is "of common European interest" and is therefore easier to promote. In a next step, German projects could also become European projects if partners from different EU countries cooperate. Such collaborations are now being examined, says Altmaier. Just a few days ago, the Climate Neutrality Foundation demanded more speed in expanding the hydrogen economy. Politicians must concentrate on those areas "where there are no or no more efficient and cheaper alternatives to hydrogen". The foundation estimates the funding requirement to be three to five billion euros per year by 2035."

Mokytojų vargai ir sumažintas intelekto koeficientas

 "JAV viceprezidentės, ponios Harris, planas naudoti federalines ir valstybines lėšas pedagogų metinėms algoms padidinti iki vidutiniškai 70 000 dolerių ar daugiau yra geras; būtų dar geriau su metine alga pasiekti iki šešių skaičių. Galų gale, pradinio lygio „Facebook“ inžinieriai uždirba gerokai daugiau nei    100 000 dolerių. Vidutiniškai šalies mastu mokytojai pradeda gauti mažiau nei 40 000 dolerių mokytojo karjeros pradžioje. Net mokytojai veteranai vis tiek uždirba daug mažiau, palyginti su kitais specialistais, kuriems reikia panašaus išsilavinimo, kad atliktų savo darbą. Ar ateities protų kūryba nėra bent jau tokia svarbi, kaip kurti priklausomybę sukeliančias programėles? 

Tyrimų organizacija „RAND Corporation“ neseniai paskelbtoje ataskaitoje pažymėjo, kad keli veiksniai turi įtakos studentų rezultatams, įskaitant „individualias savybes ir šeimos bei kaimynystės patirtį“. Jos analitikai padarė išvadą, kad „tarp su mokykla susijusių veiksnių mokytojai yra svarbiausi“. Aukštos kokybės mokytojai, pasak jų, gali pagerinti mokinių skaitymo ir matematikos testų rezultatus du ar tris kartus. Darbas nepakankamai apmokamoje mokykloje ir veiksmingų pamokų rengimas vidurinės mokyklos matematikos, gamtos mokslų ir istorijos pamokoms - kiekvienoje iš jų mokosi daugiau nei 30 skirtingų skaitymo ir anglų kalbos įgūdžių turinčių mokinių - buvo nepakankamai apmokamas. Mano nuolatinė išsekimo būsena ir su pinigais susijęs stresas ją dar labiau pablogino. 

Akademiniai tyrimai patvirtino, kad ekonominė našta, kad ir koks būtų jūsų darbas, apsunkina atlikimą ir tobulėjimą, sumažina pažintinius gebėjimus ir netgi laikinai sumažina intelekto koeficientą." 

Taigi, Landsbergienės blogai apmokami ir persidirbę mokytojai laikinai išdurnėja. Kodėl jūs taip brangiai mokate už jų paslaugas? Gal Landsbergienė jums labai graži? Juk padažyta...

Teacher hardship and reduced IQ

 "Ms. Harris’s plan to use federal and state funds to boost educators’ annual salaries to an average of $70,000 or more would be good; getting them to six figures would be even better. After all, entry-level Facebook engineers earn well over $100,000. On average nationally, teachers start at under $40,000. Even veteran teachers still make much less compared to other professionals who need similar levels of education to do their jobs. Isn’t shaping the minds of the future at least as important as building addictive apps?

The RAND Corporation, a research organization, noted in a recent report that several factors influence student performance, including “individual characteristics and family and neighborhood experiences.” Its analysts concluded that “among school-related factors, teachers matter most.” High-quality teachers, they said, can boost student performance on reading and math tests twofold or threefold.

Working in an underresourced school and preparing effective lessons for middle school math, science and history classes — each with over 30 students of varying reading and English abilities — was taxing enough. My perpetual state of exhaustion and money-related stress made it even worse. Academic studies have confirmed that economic burdens, no matter your job, make it harder to perform and excel, decreasing cognitive ability and even temporarily lowering I.Q."

 Thus, Landsbergienė's poorly paid and overworked teachers are temporarily stupid. Why do you pay so much for their services? Maybe Landsbergienė is very beautiful for you? After all, she is covered with a thick layer of cosmetics ...

Kaip dabar vyksta mūsų sąjungininkų žvalgyba Kinijoje

 "Viena Amerikos sąjungininkų tauta perdavė informaciją, kad trys Wuhano virusologinės laboratorijos darbuotojai 2019 m. rudenį buvo paguldyti į ligoninę su sunkiais gripo simptomais. Informacija apie sergančius darbuotojus laikoma svarbia, tačiau pareigūnai įspėjo, kad tai nėra įrodymas, jog jie pagavo virusą laboratorijoje - jie galbūt jį ten atnešė.  

Baltieji rūmai tikisi, kad sąjungininkai ir partneriai galės pasinaudoti savo žmogiškųjų šaltinių tinklais, kad rastų papildomos informacijos apie tai, kas įvyko laboratorijoje. Nors JAV atkūrė savo šaltinius Kinijoje, ji vis dar nėra visiškai atsigavusi, Kinijai prieš dešimtmetį pašalinus JAV žvalgybos tinklą Kinijoje. Todėl sąjungininkų spaudimas informatoriams apie tai, kas vyko Wuhano virusologijos institute, bus pagrindinė žvalgybos pastangų dalis “.  

How our Allies are now collecting information in China

 "One allied nation passed on information that three workers in the Wuhan virological laboratory were hospitalized with serious flulike symptoms in the autumn of 2019. The information about the sickened workers is considered important, but officials cautioned that it did not constitute evidence that they caught the virus at the laboratory — they may have brought it there.

The White House is hoping that allies and partners can tap their networks of human sources to find additional information about what happened inside the laboratory. While the United States has been rebuilding its own sources in China, it has still not fully recovered from the elimination of its network inside the country a decade ago. As a result, having allies press their informants about what went on inside the Wuhan Institute of Virology will be a key part of the intelligence push ahead."
