How to deal effectively with slugs

"If you can't get rid of slugs at home, you can try molluscicides, which protect the plants from snails and slugs. Molluscicides with different active ingredients can be used to protect bushes, vegetables or ornamentals. Such preparations should be used only in the presence of slugs and no more than 4 times a season. 

 When using preparations with iron phosphate, the slugs that taste them stop feeding and move to their hiding places where they die.

When exposed to metaldehyde, the slug begins to secrete large amounts of mucus, which causes dehydration,impairs skin protection, locomotor and digestive functions, in which case the moisture in the living environment can no longer protect the slug."
