Russia’s domestic intelligence agency blames Ukraine for the car bombing that killed Daria Dugina.

"The Russian authorities on Monday blamed Ukraine for organizing the killing of Daria Dugina, the ultranationalist daughter of a prominent Russian supporter of the action in Ukraine, a claim that could raise tensions further in the conflict.

Ukraine has denied having anything to do with the car bombing on Saturday that killed Ms. Dugina, 29, on a highway outside of Moscow.

Russia’s domestic intelligence agency, the F.S.B., issued a statement on Monday saying that the attack “was prepared and committed by the Ukrainian intelligence agencies,” Russian news agencies reported. The agency did not release any footage or images to back up its claims, which could not be independently verified.

Some Russian media reports had said that Ms. Dugina’s father, Aleksandr Dugin, an ultranationalist writer who helped build the ideological foundation for President Vladimir V. Putin’s special operation in Ukraine, was the likely target of the blast.

But the F.S.B.’s statement described Ms. Dugina as the intended target, saying that a Ukrainian woman had been contracted to carry out the bombing. The woman entered Russia on July 23, the agency said, and has since left the country for Estonia.

Ms. Dugina had followed in her father’s footsteps as a hawkish commentator, appearing frequently on state television.

Associates of Ms. Dugina had been quick to blame Ukraine for the attack, with some calling for retaliatory strikes against the country.

The Kremlin has not commented on the bombing, which came on the heels of a spate of Ukrainian attacks deep behind the front line in Crimea that have prompted many of the operation’s most ardent cheerleaders — including the ultranationalists in Mr. Dugin’s circle — to call on Mr. Putin to launch a new assault."
