"It is not allowed to import and register Belarusian tractors in Lithuania, but traders
have found many loopholes and are still using them. One of the most popular
ways to legalize an MTZ or Belarus is to register it as used. Cunning swindlers
took care of the first registration in Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Poland,
although in fact the tractor never even went there. This situation has already
been done, but a new method has been devised - to carry out a so-called factory
renovation for an old tractor. An old tractor is often bought from a buyer, its
body part with the serial number is removed and installed on a new tractor. If
the buyer does not have an old tractor, it is not a problem, because the
dealers themselves have the necessary details and documents. Therefore, it is a
commodity in demand on specialized ad portals. Another way is to put only the
old license plate on the purchased new tractor and try to show it on the roads
as little as possible. If the farmer's land is in a solid massif, the chance of
getting caught is very low.
One of the
companies announcing that they sell Belarusian tractors is the Vilnius-based
Agromashinos company. The website of the company, which has been operating for
the fourth year, lists contact telephone numbers with Belarus codes, and offers
customers to purchase 6 modifications of "Belarus" tractors, various
trailers, sprayers, and other agricultural machinery. After contacting the
Russian-speaking seller through the online application, he offered Belarus 820,
which can be viewed in the capital. The price of the cheapest tractor is 21
thousand euros. Before the start of the conflict in Ukraine, the same could be purchased much
cheaper - for around 16-16.5 thousand euros. The seller immediately warned that
the product registration is the customer's own business."
