Trumpas iškelia Lenkijos prezidentą--- JAV vadovo parama padeda Karoliui Nawrockiui, kuris prieš savo kandidatūrą buvo nežinomas istorikas

„VARŠUVA -- Kai prieš šešis mėnesius Teisės ir teisingumo partija pirmą kartą pasirinko Karolį Nawrocki savo kandidatu į prezidentus, dauguma lenkų rinkėjų nežinojo, kas jis toks.

 

Istorikas, tapęs politiku, siekė sustiprinti savo reputaciją, laikydamasis konservatyvios politikos ir pasinaudodamas nuovargiu dėl Ukrainos konflikto. Tačiau bene didžiausią postūmį jis gavo iš daugiau nei 4000 mylių atstumo, kai prezidentas Trumpas jam pritarė.

 

Rinkimuose dalyvavo daugiausiai lenkų rinkėjų prezidento rinkimuose nuo tada, kai šalis atsikratė komunizmo 1989 m.

 

Nawrocki laimėjo surinkęs 50,89 % atiduotų balsų.

 

Trumpo administracijos parama galbūt nebuvo lemiamas veiksnys, padėjęs Nawrockiui tapti prezidentu, tačiau tai suteikė jam pranašumą įtemptoje kovoje. Kadangi Trumpo stiliaus konservatizmas kituose pastarojo meto rinkimuose, pavyzdžiui, Kanadoje, susvyravo, Australijoje ir Rumunijoje, tai rado derlingą dirvą Lenkijoje ir padėjo Nawrockiui, jam bandant susikurti politinį identitetą.

 

Daugelis rinkėjų pasinaudojo rinkimais, kad išreikštų nepasitenkinimą dabartine valdančiąja koalicija, vadovaujama ministro pirmininko Donaldo Tusko, kuri sunkiai susidoroja su kylančiomis kainomis ir įvykdo rinkimų pažadus, kurie lėmė jos išrinkimą 2023 m.

 

Tačiau Nawrocki, laimėjęs mažiau nei 400 000 balsų skirtumu, pasinaudojo Teisės ir teisingumo partijos pastangomis stiprinti ryšius su JAV ir Trumpu.

 

Didžiąją Nawrocki karjeros dalį jis buvo istorikas, dirbantis Lenkijos valstybiniuose muziejuose ir institutuose. Jis siekė pasinaudoti savo, kaip mėgėjo boksininko, patirtimi, kad sukurtų griežto politiko įvaizdį. Tačiau apklausoje, atliktoje netrukus po to, kai Teisės ir teisingumo partija jį išrinko rinkimams, tik 39 % respondentų žinojo, kas jis toks.

 

Kurdamas savo politinį įvaizdį, jis užėmė pozicijas dešinėje, ragindamas kriminalizuoti abortus ir prieštaraujantis tos pačios lyties asmenų sąjungoms.

 

Kai populiariausia Lenkijos dešinioji antiisteblišmentinė partija, Nors Konfederacja buvo eliminuota pirmajame balsavimo ture, Nawrockis greitai prisijungė prie partijos tikslų platformos, kuri apėmė Lenkijos kariuomenės nesiuntimą į Ukrainą ir Kijevo neįstojimą į NATO.

 

Jo parama iš Vašingtono suteikė jam naują patikimumo lygį. Praėjusią savaitę Varšuvoje surengus pirmąjį JAV įsikūrusios konservatorių gynimo grupės Konservatorių politinių veiksmų konferencijos posėdį, Tėvynės saugumo sekretorė Kristi Noem pareiškė, kad Nawrockis turi būti kitas Lenkijos prezidentas." "WARSAW -- When the Law and Justice Party first picked Karol Nawrocki as its presidential candidate six months ago, most Polish voters didn't know who he was.

 

The historian-turned-politician sought to burnish his credentials by staking out conservative policies and capitalizing on fatigue over the Ukraine conflict. But he got what was perhaps his biggest boost from more than 4,000 miles away, when President Trump gave him a nod of approval.

 

The election saw the largest turnout by Polish voters in a presidential race since the country cast off Communism in 1989.

 

Nawrocki won with 50.89% of votes cast.

 

 

The backing of the Trump administration might not have been the deciding factor in catapulting Nawrocki to the presidency, but it gave him an edge in a tight race. As Trump-styled conservatism has faltered in other recent elections such as in Canada, Australia and Romania, it found fertile ground in Poland, and helped Nawrocki as he tried to establish a political identity.

 

Many voters used the election to voice dissatisfaction with the current ruling coalition, headed by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, which has struggled to deal with rising prices and make good on the campaign promises that got it elected in 2023.

 

But Nawrocki, who won by fewer than 400,000 votes, benefited from an effort by the Law and Justice Party to strengthen ties with the U.S. and Trump.

 

For most of Nawrocki's career he was a historian working in Polish state museums and institutes. He sought to capitalize on his experience as an amateur boxer to cultivate an image as a tough politician. But in a survey conducted shortly after he was tapped by Law and Justice for the race, only 39% of respondents knew who he was.

 

He staked out positions on the right as he established his political image, calling for the criminalization of abortion and opposing same-sex unions.

 

When Poland's most popular right-wing antiestablishment party, Konfederacja, was eliminated in the first round of voting, Nawrocki moved swiftly to sign up to a platform of party objectives that included not sending Polish troops to Ukraine and keeping Kyiv out of NATO.

 

His support from Washington gave him a new level of credibility. When the Conservative Political Action Conference, a U.S.-based conservative advocacy group, had its first meeting in Warsaw last week, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem said Nawrocki needed to be Poland's next president.

 

The same day the House Committee on Foreign Affairs claimed without giving proof that Nawrocki's opponent, Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski, could be benefiting from illegal funds, and implied the EU was staying quiet about it because it benefited its interests. Trzaskowki has denied illicit financing.

 

The most important show of support was from Trump. After a meeting between Trump and Nawrocki in the Oval Office, the White House released photos of them smiling. "The photo with Trump was the most important for Nawrocki -- to make him look credible," said Milan Nic, a senior research fellow at the German Council on Foreign Relations.

 

Many in Poland see Washington as its most important historical ally -- from President Woodrow Wilson's advocating the creation of a Polish state after World War I to Ronald Reagan's support for Poland's Solidarity movement that freed the country from communism's stranglehold.

 

The importance of Trump's influence comes as Poles worry whether America's security blanket will continue to extend over Europe. Poland sees its ties with Washington as an existential issue.

 

"There is an understanding in Poland's DNA that the U.S. was there at its most pivotal moments so there's a different type of respect Poles have for the U.S.," said Pawel Chudzicki, head of the Washington office of Miller Canfield Paddock and Stone law firm, which represented the Polish Defense Ministry under the previous Law and Justice government.” [1]

Rinkimai vėl saugūs: biudžetas pakenktų JAV kibernetinės agentūros finansavimui

“Prezidento Trumpo siūlomame 2026 fiskalinių metų biudžete Kibernetinio saugumo ir infrastruktūros saugumo agentūros (CISA) finansavimas būtų sumažintas 495 mln. dolerių iki 2,38 mlrd. dolerių.

 

Šis sumažėjimas žymi ryškų CISA biudžeto tendencijų pasikeitimą – per pastaruosius penkerius metus jos finansavimas arba augo, arba išliko santykinai nepakitęs.

 

Vidaus saugumo sekretorė Kristi Noem teigė norinti, kad CISA labiau sutelktų dėmesį į savo pagrindinę misiją – apsaugoti ypatingos svarbos infrastruktūrą ir civilines federalines agentūras, ir kritikavo ankstesnes jos pastangas rinkimų saugumo ir dezinformacijos stebėjimo srityje.

 

Biudžete bus sumažintas CISA rinkimų saugumo programos darbuotojų skaičius ir uždarytas Rinkimų infrastruktūros informacijos dalijimosi ir analizės centras.

 

Pagal siūlomą biudžetą CISA būtų daug taupesnė. Kartu su įvairių programų finansavimo sumažinimu biudžete siūloma sumažinti apie 1000 pareigybių, t. y. maždaug trečdaliu visų jos darbuotojų.

 

CISA ruošėsi dideliems lėšų mažinimams nuo tada, kai prezidentas Trumpas grįžo į pareigas. Sausio mėnesį buvo paleista Kibernetinio saugumo peržiūros taryba – bendras viešojo ir privačiojo sektorių komitetas, įkurtas tirti reikšmingus kibernetinius incidentus.

 

Demokratai ir kai kurie respublikonai kritikavo pastangas sumažinti CISA veiklą tuo metu, kai kibernetinės grėsmės laikomos rekordinėmis. Penktadienį senatoriai Markas Warneris (demokratas, Virdžinija), Richardas Blumenthalis (demokratas, Konektikutas), Elissa Slotkin (demokratė, Mičiganas) ir Ronas Wydenas (demokratas, Oregonas) parašė Noem, ragindami ją atkurti Kibernetinio saugumo peržiūros tarybos veiklą.“ [1]

 

Lietuvoje mokesčių mokėtojai irgi brangiai moka už dezinformacijos stebėjimą. Laikas sustabdyti kvailus žaidimus.

Elections Are Safe Again: Budget Would Hit U.S. Cyber Agency

"The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency would have its funding slashed by $495 million to a $2.38 billion allocation in President Trump's proposed budget for fiscal 2026.

 

The falloff marks a stark reversal in budgetary trends for CISA, which saw its funding either climb or stay relatively flat over the past five years.

 

Kristi Noem, the Homeland Security secretary, has said she wants CISA to focus more on its core mission of protecting critical infrastructure and civilian federal agencies, and has criticized its past efforts in election security and monitoring disinformation.

 

The budget will reduce the number of employees in CISA's election-security program and shutter the Elections Infrastructure Information Sharing and Analysis Center.

 

Under the proposed budget, CISA would be far leaner. Along with funding cuts for various programs, the budget proposes a head-count reduction of about 1,000 positions, around one-third of its workforce.

 

CISA has braced for sweeping cuts since President Trump returned to office. The Cyber Safety Review Board, a joint public-private committee set up to investigate significant cyber incidents, was dissolved in January.

 

Democrats and some Republicans have criticized efforts to reduce CISA's operations at a time when cyber threats are perceived to be at a record. On Friday, Sens. Mark Warner (D., Va.), Richard Blumenthal (D., Conn.), Elissa Slotkin (D., Mich.) and Ron Wyden (D., Ore.) wrote to Noem, urging her to reinstate the Cyber Safety Review Board.” [1]

 

In Lithuania, taxpayers are also paying dearly for monitoring disinformation. It's time to stop the stupid games.
