"A valued museologist, Ignacy Skrzypek, a long-time head of the Archaeological Department of the Museum in Koszalin, has just obtained a doctoral degree - informed the Adam Mickiewicz University Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań.

Ignacy Skrzypek was born in 1940, he was the oldest doctoral student at the Faculty of History of the Adam Mickiewicz University. An archaeologist by education and passion, for years the head of the Archaeological Department of the Museum in Koszalin. He was a highly valued and respected figure in the community of researchers of the history of Western Pomerania and local museologists.

In addition to archaeological research, he was also interested in regional studies and the related history of Pomeranian museology. This is the topic of the doctoral dissertation prepared and defended on January 10, 2023, entitled "History of museology in Western Pomerania until 1945", the result of many years of research in this field.

The defense was chaired by prof. Przemyslaw Matusik."
