The entire Lithuanian government system, including the army, is a kindergarten

"The NATO summit has become history. As many wished for, but maybe not with this in mind. The most brutal conflict in Europe continues. After bursts of enthusiasm, depression comes to the countryside in the forests. But NATO's plan - not to give a single foot of Lithuania to the Russians - already exists? The German brigade will be in Lithuania, Pistorius promised?

The truth is not a lie. The plan is much better than it was. Thanks to the NATO allies and primarily to Ukraine. German Defense Minister Pistorius promised to place the whole brigade in Lithuania. Even Stoltenberg freaked out. Together with the generals of the Bundeswehr.

But even that is not enough for Minister Anušauskas. After the meeting with Pistorius, Anušauskas resolutely stated that Germany must prepare a plan for the deployment of the brigade not before the end of the year, but sooner.

And now let's calculate. Just not the way the ministers are counting. What is a brigade? There are the 5,000 plus or minus officers, sergeants and soldiers in it. Not one and not two - with wives (husbands), girlfriends and children. What would happen if those 5,000 soldiers entered Lithuania this year or next year?

There would be chaos. Where should so many soldiers and officers be accommodated?

There are no barracks or apartments for them. It should be built. It has been a year since the permanent brigade was agreed upon with Germany in principle. One year passed in vain. Making noises like turkeys on the Germans that they didn't send the brigade, only the staff.

Has anyone in the government at least suggested how long it would take to receive so many allied soldiers? Maybe that's why Pistorius threw that card, that he was informed by the intelligence of the Bundeswehr - the Lithuanians have nowhere to put our brigade, promise, minister, whatever they want, Vilnius will do it anyway.

What are the problems, the enthusiasts from the Cabinet of Ministers will answer. Look, we built the border wall with Belarus in a flash.

You'd better invite a builder to the meeting. In order to explain in general terms or with slides, how the finance minister is now pushing a pseudo-reform of taxes to the liberals at the request of young Gentvilas, to show what is the difference between building a wall to detain people at the border and building a military town of 8-9 thousand Germans and still in the land that is now plowed.

Why so many?

Let's try again. The first question - what does Lithuania need to build so that the Bundeswehr brigade can be permanently stationed here? What is this task?

Build barracks for approximately 4,000 soldiers. Brigade headquarters with appropriate security, communications, etc. requirements. Ammunition warehouses. Hangar for armored vehicles, tanks, self-propelled howitzers, mortars, air defense systems, drones, communications, etc. for machines and canteen for soldiers.

Let's go further. Officers and some non-commissioned officers (you should know in advance which part is different in each NATO army) will not live in the barracks.

Therefore, about 1,000 apartments need to be built. There are at least 500 children in kindergartens. Plus a small German high school. After construction, impose another hundred apartments with a tail for teachers and kindergarten teachers.

You will also need several shopping centers, and other warehouses (yes, they will be built by the merchants themselves, but it is still construction).

Premises will be needed for restaurants, cafes, pubs, a cinema, dry cleaner reception points, hairdressers and manicure rooms, fitness and sports centers. In the end, roads and streets should be built, squares should be laid out, and greenery should be planted.

How many houses will be built in total? In principle, these are new, only smaller, but better Elektrėnai. Because the army is not only panzerhaubizs and leopards, which, representing a German manufacturer, is pushed by some reserve major while coordinating the activities of the army. The army is primarily people. And logistics, buildings, apartments.

So in how long time is it possible to deploy a German brigade?

Even the place to deploy it has not been chosen yet. Unclaimed land. There is no project. Even a civilian should realize that it would be good to have an airport, the Rail Baltica railway and a highway near the Bundeswehr brigade.

How many such places are there in Lithuania? How much will land prices increase when such a place is announced? How does the state promise to buy that land - which is hundreds of hectares - in one day?

If everything goes as usual for construction in our country, and it is not necessary to operate here in the anecdotal case of the construction of the National Stadium in Vilnius, but only to introduce statistical deadlines for issuing construction permits, design and coordination, two years will pass with a tail. Minimum.

That long? If you don't believe it, ask yourself how long it took to plan and build Paupiai or another larger district of Vilnius.

The biggest owners of Lithuanian construction companies calculate as follows: if it is as usual, 7-8 years will pass before the German brigade can be accommodated as it should be. Eight, Carlson. 2031 from the birth of the Lord, not 2026, as Nausėda probably reads from the ceiling.

Although 2026 is already too late. Lithuania can be occupied fifteen times during that time.

Another question - would it be possible to deploy the German brigade faster? If so, how and how much? It is possible, say the same builders. It is possible in a couple of years. But then a separate law is needed - to take the money suddenly, to suppress the bureaucracy and make competitions like a song.

The Government has already asked for a year. After all, it is a conflict year. Has Šimonytė's government already proposed such a law to the Seimas? Appointed a commissar for military construction? They say some clerk-no-name in the Ministry of National Defense takes care of it. Thank you, let's move on to the next item on the agenda.

What are you waiting for, gentlemen? Have you consulted with your builders and German builders? Did you at least exchange words with someone else in private? At least after Pistorius promised that the brigade would be complete? And the clock is ticking.

The German brigade is a possibility. Not only defense, here for Karbauskis's cow is also clear. Economics. Imagine a German town in Lithuania. The thing attracts euros from everywhere. After all, these are rich customers. About 8-9 thousand people.

And now about the defense of Lithuania in such a way that not a single foot of land belongs to the Russians for even an hour. For that, NATO would need to have three fully equipped divisions here. For starters. That's all Lithuania had before the World War II. How many do you have now? Plus minus brigade. They started creating the division only with words.

Therefore, not only the German, but also the Polish brigade needs to be invited. It was necessary yesterday and the day before. And where will the Germans come? Who actually does this? That clerk from KAM who can only write e-mails offline? The generals whose highest rank was equalized by the Seimas and the President to a four-star US general, when we have only one real brigade (!)?

What we pay, we pay. The generals who themselves and their henchmen openly say that they don't need any Germans here, give them that construction money, then they will buy (by 2028 at the earliest, huh?) weapons, and the Russians will never take Lithuania again?

In other countries, this is sometimes called sabotage. In Lithuania, there will soon be no more people who can even name it. This happens when there is no strategic discipline in the state. When will it appear? Will it appear?"

Here's to you, Lady, a real Pistorius...
