Anthropic CEO Sees AI Topping Human Intelligence

"Anthropic Chief Executive Officer Dario Amodei said his AI startup is racing to secure the computing power needed to meet demand for its generative AI chatbot Claude.

"The surge in demand we've seen over the last year, and particularly in the last three months, has overwhelmed our ability to provide the needed compute," he said in an interview at the Journal House in Davos, Switzerland. He added that this will improve the rate limits against which users of its popular Claude chatbot often run up.

Amodei said he was relatively confident the technology would surpass human intelligence in the next two or three years.

Amodei said he wouldn't be surprised if Anthropic had more than one million chips powering its AI technology in 2026. He said the startup's revenue grew 10-fold last year.

Anthropic is at the center of an escalating race in Silicon Valley to build the world's most powerful AI technology. The startup is in advanced talks to raise $2 billion at a $60 billion valuation, The Wall Street Journal reported this month.

Amodei said that Anthropic expects to release smarter models in the coming months. He noted that web integration is coming very soon and the company is working on a two-way voice mode and a better memory so Claude could remember more about users and past conversations.

OpenAI has released similar features for ChatGPT." [1]
