Baidu with new AI models: It is the first deep reasoning model that uses tools autonomously.

 

"HONG KONG. The Chinese company Baidu has introduced two new artificial intelligence models. They are the multimodal Ernie 4.5 and a new, logical reasoning-focused model called X1. Ernie 4.5 has "excellent multimodal comprehension capabilities," the company announced on Sunday. It has more advanced language capabilities, and its comprehension, generation, logic, and memory skills have been comprehensively improved. It can also easily understand internet memes and satirical cartoons, Baidu stated.

 

The X1 has "stronger comprehension, planning, reflection, and evolution capabilities," Baidu further stated. It is the first deep reasoning model to use tools autonomously.

 

 

With both models, the Chinese company aims to assert itself in a fiercely competitive AI field. As one of the first Chinese tech companies to launch a Chat-GPT-like chatbot, Baidu had, despite claiming to be a OpenAI's GPT-4 performance is comparable, but its large language model Ernie is struggling to gain widespread acceptance in the face of fierce competition."
