The pre-trial investigation was launched by the STT after receiving a report from the Ministry of National Defence. The investigation was led by the prosecutor of the Organized Crime and Corruption Investigation Department of the Vilnius Regional Prosecutor's Office. Earlier, BNS reported that while serving as military commander V. Rupšys had dental implants costing 4,000 euros, paid for by the military. He then said that in 2022 he suffered a dental injury while visiting soldiers, the incident was recognized as service-related, and therefore paid for with the funds of the national defense system.”
