Secondary sanctions on Russia mean huge tariffs on countries who buy Russian energy. Main buyer of Russian energy is China.
China has become one of the largest importers of Russian fossil fuels since the conflict in Ukraine. China has purchased a large share of Russia's crude oil exports, with China's share being 47% in November 2024. China has been a major buyer of Russian coal, purchasing 46% of all Russia's coal exports from December 2022 to November 2024. While the EU remains the largest buyer of Russian LNG, China is also a significant importer.
The USA loaded already draconian tariffs on China that completely blocked trade between the USA and China. Now you can charge tariffs of 5 000 percent on China. That will be funny and will change nothing.
Grandma did tell you not to fight China and Russia both at the same time, didn't she?
