Lithuanian tents must be set up near the border with Belarus to receive applications from migrants seeking asylum. Applications must be examined within six months. An order for migrants to stay in Belarus would then become legal.
Standing at the border and screaming at everyone: “Go away...” is a violation of international law. It will cost Lithuania dearly through court proceedings. Such a policy is popular in the most deprived villages of Lithuania (see how fierce we are here), but in a civilized society such a policy is unacceptable and not worthwhile.
