Lilium lays off almost all employees: Air taxi company is apparently at the end

"F.A.Z. FRANKFURT. The air taxi company Lilium, which was once launched with a lot of hope and political support, is apparently at the end. On Friday, almost all of the start-up's employees received their notice, reports the news service "Gründerszene". According to the report, Lilium is only employing a few employees who will wind down the company. Lilium itself has not yet officially commented on the matter.

Almost ten years ago, students at the Technical University of Munich founded the company Lilium. They wanted to develop an aircraft that could take off vertically and was powered by electricity. They have not yet succeeded - although they often promised manned flights. The founders have also evidently not been able to win new investors for their idea.

In the recent past, not least the German government, including the Chancellor himself, have campaigned for the company to continue. In October, the company from Gauting near Munich had to file for bankruptcy - now there seems to have been no way out of this that would save the company." [1]
