An economic crash caused by the Government is taking place in Lithuania

"In Lithuania, annual inflation exceeds 20 percent already in the first month, energy prices are at record highs and keep breaking through new ceilings. And the Speaker of the Seimas, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, recently publicly said that measures to control the current energy resource price crisis will only be adopted when considering the 2023 budget!

Here, Poland, Estonia, the Czech Republic and many other countries already have clear, accepted and operational aid packages for residents and businesses! We need them here and now, for survival, not for entertainment... But the Lithuanian authorities don't even plan to do that! It offers to suffer in obscurity and live without compensation until 2023. The question is: how many companies will survive in 2023 at current prices and how many residents will have the funds to pay record high gas and electricity bills?

The situation is worsening at the rate of geometric progression

The last received recent company bills and a comparison of gas prices per cubic meter compared to a year ago show an increase of as much as 18 times! The new price reaches as much as 8.28 euros, while a year ago it was only 0.46 euros! Bills for residents for gas and electricity have also increased at times!

Where is the clear plan of the liberal-conservative Government, how to save the population and Lithuanian companies that create jobs? To what extent can kinship relations be tolerated in the energy sector, for example, the loss-making Litgrid led by Roko Masiulis buys electricity from the NordPool exchange, where his wife holds a management position, and thus received as much as 128 million euros of unplanned income during the last half-year. How can people and companies plan for the future when it is not known whether there will be compensation - to whom, how much and when? It's a sad reality, but next January, many will not make it and will close, go bankrupt, and people will be left without work and income with n-fold increased prices!

Economist Raimondas Kuodis openly assessed everything that is happening: "This is a mockery of the nation, lobbyists' games, corruption and bluntness all in one. Such things are unsustainable, because sooner or later society will notice that it is being ``dumbed down''. I agree with R. Kuodis that there is a possibility to cancel the liberalization altogether. This must be done if the current Government will have the courage to admit it made a mistake and want to help people who have been fooled and are in trouble.

There are definitely solutions - why is nothing being done?!

So how could this difficult economic situation for the economy as a whole be dealt with in the short term? Stopping liberalization is not enough. We need to temporarily nationalize energy companies and make regulated prices for everyone. There is no other logical way to survive this difficult crisis period. After all, even the president of our country, Gitanas Nausėda, suggests maintaining a fixed price - 24 cents per kilowatt hour of electricity.

The liberalization of the electricity market should be stopped strictly from the first stage, what has happened, and not from the current situation, as some politicians and public representatives suggest.

In order for Lithuanian businessmen and the entire population to survive, the current situation requires smart and quick solutions.

And in the long-term perspective, Lithuania must become an electricity-producing country, because we are now an electricity-importing country! We even buy up to 75 percent of the electricity we need from foreign suppliers.

There is an economic collapse of businesses - who will be responsible for the consequences of this economic crash?

The thoughts of business representatives about the current situation are very worrying. According to the president of the Vilnius Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts (VPPAR), Sigitas Leonavičius, "without state aid, large companies will begin to collapse, some of which are already considering stopping their activities." According to him: "It is important to maintain the industry, to maintain the sector in which, by the way, nearly a million Lithuanians work. Once it starts collapsing, it will start a geometric progression." Already now, one of the country's largest companies, Achema, has stopped its activities, glass and plastic industry companies are going bankrupt, in general, a considerable number of companies are planning to move their operations from Lithuania to Poland or other more attractive countries. In addition, the country's largest poultry farms and other representatives of the food industry say that they will not survive this winter without state support and will go bankrupt. And this is just the beginning of the problems that plagued the business.

What future awaits all the people of Lithuania? Already now, inflation in Lithuania is almost the same as in the Ukraine. As if that were not enough, the Government of Ingrida Šimonytė will propose to the Seimas in September to adopt amendments to the laws, after which the excise taxes on various types of fuel will increase, so an even greater increase in the prices of services and goods is guaranteed. The improperly managed Lithuanian economic train will soon completely derail! Who will be responsible for the consequences of this economic crash and how will we all have to live after that!? How to fix such a ruined economy for the future government after this one finishes government work!?

Why are those who see a catastrophic situation turned into Russian agents!?

I pose a question to our people: is this situation suitable for you and when will this Government finally be loudly demanded to work for Lithuania!? Unfortunately, it is not common to resign in dictatorial states even without the support of the people. And the prime minister clearly told us - wait for the next election. She doesn't even promise to change poorly performing ministers either. Dictatorship after all. Why change!? Lithuanians are patient, and Vladimir Putin is really to blame for the Government's inaction and lack of communication with the nation. Those who do not understand this and do not support the liberal-conservative government are Russian agents.

Such a wonderful fairy tale and "fiction for the nation" have been hanging out for several years... A situation of deep crisis is already being created here and we have no right to retreat, but SILENCE and FEAR prevail around us... If the majority chooses silence and nothingness, the active minority will certainly not save us . If the nation is still alive, the "Lithuania first" movement must arise throughout the country!!! Its representatives must demand urgent necessary decisions here and now and remind the Government that according to the Constitution, Lithuania is a democracy, not a dictatorship..."
