It's been almost a year since Open AI released its ChatGPT language model. At that time, a new era for artificial intelligence (AI) began. Now it has announced another step. ChatGPT is intended to become a whole family of AI applications, with many tailored versions for different purposes. All of these individual GPTs, as Open AI calls them, are to be distributed on a new platform that is reminiscent of Apple's App Store.
This GPT Store is intended to provide AI systems for all situations and help such technologies become more widely established than before. To what extent this will be a similar success formula as it was for Apple remains to be seen, but Open AI has created the initial prerequisites for this. Open AI may be significantly smaller than some of its competitors such as Meta or Google. But a year after ChatGPT's launch, the company appears to be doing well in the AI race against these giants."
