Open AI is keeping up.

"Almost a year ago, Open AI released its language model ChatGPT. The company seems to be continuing to hold its own in the race with giants, like Google and Meta.

It's been almost a year since Open AI released its ChatGPT language model. At that time, a new era for artificial intelligence (AI) began. The chatbot, which sometimes provided surprisingly competent answers to all kinds of queries, brought the potential of AI systems closer to the general public for the first time.

ChatGPT's success sparked an arms race in the industry. Technology companies like Google and Meta pulled out all the stops to counter the advance of Open AI with their own language models, Elon Musk founded the new AI company X.AI, which presented its first chatbot just a few days ago.

Open AI is determined to defend its position at the top of the field. The company has rapidly developed its AI systems over the past twelve months and also pushed ahead with their commercialization. It has introduced a premium paid version of ChatGPT and offers for business use.

Now it has announced another step. ChatGPT is intended to become a whole family of AI applications, with many tailored versions for different purposes. All of these individual GPTs, as Open AI calls them, are to be distributed on a new platform that is reminiscent of Apple's App Store.

This GPT Store is intended to provide AI systems for all situations and help such technologies become more widely established than before. To what extent this will be a similar success formula as it was for Apple remains to be seen, but Open AI has created the initial prerequisites for this. Open AI may be significantly smaller than some of its competitors such as Meta or Google. But a year after ChatGPT's launch, the company appears to be doing well in the AI race against these giants."
