OpenAI introduces new AI tool for complex research

 

"After the shock caused by the success of the Chinese AI startup Deepseek, the US market leader OpenAI is now following up: ChatGPT will in future be able to carry out research work, that would take people many hours, in just a few minutes.

 

The US company OpenAI has announced a new function called "deep research" for its AI chatbot ChatGPT. With the help of this function, ChatGPT can "find, analyze and summarize hundreds of online sources," OpenAI explained on Monday. The research tool "can do in dozens of minutes what would take a person many hours," it continued.

 

Last week, the success of the Chinese AI company Deepseek shook the US tech sector. The company has developed a chatbot that can compete with US models. At the same time, according to Deepseek, the development of the program cost only a fraction of what OpenAI invested in ChatGPT.

 

OpenAI boss Sam Altman was in Tokyo on Monday, to meet Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and the head of the Japanese company Softbank, Masayoshi Son. Softbank and OpenAI are both part of the Stargate project for massive investments in the US AI infrastructure, which US President Donald Trump presented last week. A total of 500 billion dollars are to be invested over the next four years.”
