Yes, Europeans have a great lifestyle. Yes, retired people are taken care of before they become complete wrecks. Yes, mothers take care of their babies for a long time, so they grow up civilized, not complete idiots. Yes, Europeans have great vacations. Yes, Europeans don't make huge AI companies, promising first to destroy our workforce (and economy), and finally finish all humanity. Look above, why Europeans are not idiots. If Europeans can preserve their great lifestyle, they can use open-source Chinese AI models, without major catastrophe, that expects more greedy countries because of AI penetration.
As major economies wrestle with the impacts of automation, the European focus on social contracts, strong labor rights, and extensive vacations contrast sharply with the frantic race by US tech giants to push the boundaries of frontier AI. Because American frontier labs are increasingly restricted from exporting their most powerful models to foreign markets, countries are looking to control their own infrastructure. Just in time, Chinese labs and companies (like Alibaba, Zhipu, and DeepSeek) have leaned heavily into open-source strategies, offering incredibly powerful, cheap, and accessible open-weight models to the world. This is where the future of Europe belongs, not in color revolutions in Berlin, Paris or Barcelona.
