"According to a newspaper report, the new boss Peter Bosch has presented a restructuring plan. And is being supported by VW CEO Oliver Blume.
According to a report, the realignment of the Volkswagen software subsidiary Cariad is associated with major job cuts. According to a report in “Manager Magazin”, the new division boss Peter Bosch has presented a restructuring plan that will eliminate 2,000 jobs. VW CEO Oliver Blume supports the plan and job cuts should begin in 2024, the report continues.
According to information on the company website, Cariad has more than 6,000 employees around the world.
VW said that the planning for the restructuring of the division, begun by Cariad boss Bosch in the summer, is nearing completion and will be announced as soon as the committees have approved. VW did not confirm the job cuts.
At Cariad, VW wants to bundle software development within the group, which plays an outstanding role in converting the product range to electric cars. Problems with software development led to delays in important vehicle projects such as the Porsche e-Macan and the Audi Q6 e-tron and ultimately to the replacement of CEO Herbert Diess.
His successor Oliver Blume had initiated a new beginning in terms of personnel, in which three of four Cariad board members had to leave. The new division boss Bosch, previously head of production at the Bentley subsidiary, is considered an experienced reorganizer." [1]
