"During the Holy Mass sermon at the Paberžė music
festival dedicated to Father Stanislavas, priest R. Doveika stated that 80% of
Lithuanians are afraid to express their opinion. It is not known on what basis
the phrase is said, it caused emotions in social networks, but there were also some who supported the priest.
"Father Stanislovas was and still is a teacher for each
of us. In addition to all other values, he also teaches us the ability to be
ourselves, to be true.
It was recently reported in the public space that even 80
percent people of our nation are afraid to express their opinion in public.
What pit have we fallen into as a nation? One would not want to believe that
the fruit of our nation's 30th anniversary of independence is the fear of
expressing one's opinion, because you will be silenced, pushed. We don't need
such a fruit," - said the respected priest. - "We have to reach out to the teacher
in order to be able to remain authentic", said R. Doveika, quoted by the
portal rinkosaikste.lt.
It was not possible to call R. Doveika himself from Delphi.
R. Doveika was supported by Asta Kubilienė, a member of the
Lithuanian Peasants' Green Union.
"What did priest Ričardas Doveika speak about, and was
it true, in Paberžė when he sacrificed St. Mass?
Although it is somewhat ironic, knowing the mass cutting of
forests and regional parks by the Minister of Environmental Protection, the
Song Day of the centenary Song Festival is called "To make the forest
green"... but everything else was really wonderful: the repertoire, the
performance, the scenography... Well, maybe this the neurolinguistic way of
naming the holiday that way, knowing this important period, was chosen
deliberately?" - A. Kubilienė wrote on Facebook.
She mentioned the Song Festival repertoire a lot in her
post.
"It's amazing that we also sang the immortal verses of
Justin Marcinkevičius, but will we really dare to admit to ourselves and others
at the next song festival that this is the poetry of Justinas
Marcinkevičius?" Because, for example: "Our days are like a holiday,
like cherry blossoms, so let's hurry to live, because they will pass - they
will not come back!", in which the words of Salomeja Nėris were used,
only... they as a song of V. Kernagis became exceptional at the centenary Song
Festival. "...as taught to us by Vytautas Kernagis", "Vytautas
Kernagis's song"..., said the hosts of the events.
I understand that there were no LATGAs in those days, but
basic respect, even for maestro V. Kernagis himself, requires us to publish it,
otherwise he is a plagiarist? Isn't that what priest Ričardas Doveika was
talking about?", - wrote A. Kubilienė."
Do you remember that our youth, hiding from the army, was
declared the happiest in the world? Such hypocrisy was unpleasantly reminiscent
of the times of open rule by communists (Nausėda, Grybauskaitė) and KGB
(Vytautas Landsbergis) in the Soviet Union. My condolences to Doveika. It will
not be easy for him in Landsbergis' Lithuania.
