Colleges Are Selling a Product Nobody Wants

“Thank you John Ellis for calling out today's college education for what it really is: a waste of the student's time and the parent's money ("Radical Professors Have Poisoned the Electorate," op-ed, Oct. 17).

The result of a college education is increasingly a poorly educated, unattractive potential employee.

A recent poll shows that 70% of Americans thought that a college education was "very important" in 2013, but that number has shrunk to 31% today.

College costs are climbing while college enrollments are declining. The industry blames it on the demographic cliff that we are entering. But Mr. Ellis calls the problem out: the folks operating the business of college education are turning out a bad product that isn't worth much in today's market.
