Good ideas that would be suitable for elections in Lithuania, unfortunately, were expressed only in Germany

"The president of the Central Association of German Crafts is no less concerned with securing qualified workers. Vocational training needs to be strengthened, he says - and makes a specific proposal for reducing bureaucracy.

The craft sector wants to conclude more new training contracts this year than last year. "Until 2023 in November we were able to conclude 133,700 new training contracts in these areas, but around 20,000 training positions remained unfilled," Jörg Dittrich, president of the Central Association of German Crafts, told Düsseldorf's Rheinische Post. The aim is to ensure that not a single training spot remains unoccupied this year. At the same time, he called for reducing bureaucracy and making more efforts to attract qualified workers inside the country.

Federal and state governments must "finally treat vocational and academic education equally and provide them with the same financial resources", demanded the president of the Central German Crafts Association (ZDH). "Although universities and colleges have received significantly more financial support in recent years, each year they have to fight for small sums of millions to upgrade our vocational training centers and technological equipment."

In an effort to cut red tape at companies, Dittrich called for a long-term suspension of the paperwork requirements. "My suggestion would be: just for once - let's say for a limited period of 24 months - let's do away with a lot of the documentation and evidentiary requirements altogether. Then we'll see if things work out without them," he said.

"I don't know any sector of the economy anymore that would say that everything is going well in Germany," added the crafts president.

"We need to ensure reliable and affordable energy, mobilize skilled workers, promote digitization and reduce bureaucracy," he insisted.

In order to secure skilled workers, there is a need to increase the potential within the country. Dittrich pointed out that around 50,000 young people in Germany leave school every year without a qualification." [1]
