Why Cannot the European Union Compete and Therefore Deindustrializes Right Now? Why the EU Elites Started Losing Elections Massively?

You cannot compete in industrial production without cheap electricity, that is basis of most production, robotics and AI development.

Industrial electricity prices in the European Union have more than doubled (or roughly doubled to over 2x) at their peak during the energy crisis following the 2022 events in Ukraine and subsequent cut-offs/sanctions on Russian gas, though wholesale and retail levels have partially stabilized since then.

EU Industrial Electricity Price Increases

•           Price Movement: Following the disruption and sanctions on Russian pipeline gas in 2022, wholesale and non-household electricity prices spiked dramatically, causing industrial electricity costs to more than double compared to pre-crisis levels.

•           Current Levels: According to data from Eurostat and BusinessEurope, EU industrial electricity prices reached approximately €0.199 per kWh (with the recent EU non-household average sitting around €0.1837 per kWh).

Comparison with the USA and China

•           United States: EU industrial and non-household electricity prices are roughly 2 to 2.5 times higher than in the United States. The U.S. industrial electricity price hovers around €0.075 per kWh (approx. $0.07–$0.08/kWh), supported by abundant domestic shale gas and fossil fuel production.

•           China: EU industrial electricity prices are roughly 50% to over 100% higher than in China. Chinese industrial electricity prices average around €0.082 per kWh (or lower depending on the region and voltage class), aided by state-regulated tariffs and economies of scale.

•           Pre-Sanction vs. Post-Sanction Gap: Before the 2021–2022 energy shock, the price gap between EU industrial electricity and the US/China was significantly narrower. Post-sanction reliance on more expensive liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports and carbon costs widened this structural deficit, leaving European industrial power costs at more than double US levels and well above Chinese equivalents.

The industry is basis for military ability. It is not safe to live in the European Union currently. Germany's most promising party, the AfD, demands an end to anti-Russian sanctions.
