Does it make sense to participate in a Lithuanian referendum to legalize dual citizenship?

It does make sense. During the last referendum, the vast majority of voters were in favor of legalizing dual citizenship. Speeches against Lithuanians with dual citizenship immediately disappeared. Everybody avoids most people's anger. Therefore, Kęstutis Girnius is wrong in this matter:

 

    "The slogan "from Australia to Alaska" sounds nice, but it will probably remain a slogan. Preparatory work has begun to legitimize dual citizenship through a referendum, which is planned for 2024 together with the presidential elections. A similar referendum, held in May 2019, did not support the amendments to Article 12 of the Constitution. And this time dual citizenship will not be legalized again, but not only because the bar for the adoption of the referendum is extremely high. Many Lithuanians have a negative view of compatriots who do not live in Lithuania, with the exception of relatives and friends. We can all sing the national anthem together, but not everyone can obtain or regain citizenship."
